Sometimes wisdom comes into
the room unnoticed.
You could be eating an egg or sipping
hot coffee, oblivious to
it's presence.
It's placed before you
with a wry smile
and averted eyes
as a throwaway observation.
Then it rattles around in you
all day, like a treacherous
jingle,
until you wrestle it into
temporary submission,
knowing it's likely
to be back.
